UPDATED: DIY Coasters

When I was stuck home after my surgery, I made a few sets of DIY coasters using all sorts of scrapbook paper. My favorites were the ones I made with glitter wrapping paper from the Paper Source - so fun yet easy to make! I've added some new photos below - aren't they pretty? :) (The music note ones are for my friend Ellie who plays the bass.)

What you need...

• 4x4 inch plain ceramic tiles (like these from Home Depot)
• Mod Podge
• a fat paint brush
• pretty scrapbook paper {I used this pack for the music notes} or glitter paper
• little rubber or felt stick-on pads (like these)

What to do...

1. Cut out pieces of scrapbook paper that are just slightly smaller than the surface of your tile.
2. Dip your fat brush into the mod podge and paint a thin layer onto each tile. One coat is enough.
3. Affix the paper onto the tile. Let dry for 30 minutes.
4. Paint another layer of mod podge over the top of the coasters to seal the paper in.
5. Stick 4 felt or rubber pads to the bottom of the tile so it won't scratch up your table.
6. Now you have gorgeous, handmade coasters! Tie them up with a pretty bow if your'e giving them away as gifts. :)
