Happy Friday! After I wrote last night, Ellie and I went out and had a great dinner at Cafe de l'Alma a few blocks away from our apartment. We were able to sit in the covered, heated outdoor patio and enjoyed a great modern French meal and a whole lot of Beaujolais. ;) Here's a great photo I snapped on the way to dinner...
While we were eating, we asked the waiters at the restaurant where a good place to go out and get drinks would be. They pointed us in the direction of an underground cave that's been turned into a bar and plays jazz music. It was so much fun! I definitely recommend going if you're in Paris - it's right on the border of the 5eme and 6eme arrondissements.
When the jazz music stopped, we wandered around until we found Le Buci, a traditional cafe where we ordered another drink. It was packed and seems to be a pretty popular place for the 20-30 year old crowd at night.
Before heading home, we walked around the neighborhood a bit. I loved the street sign that translates to "the cat who goes fishing!"
Ellie and I woke up pretty late today...to be honest, we stayed out longer than we intended and may have had one too many glasses of wine. Oops! ;) It was rainy all day long though so a little rest & relaxation in our apartment was much needed.
After things cleared up a bit, we went for a walk around the neighborhood and made a point to visit le Rue Cler, the street with all of the local markets. It was really neat to see and I'm glad we were able to check it out!
Tonight Ellie and I are laying low and making dinner in the apartment. We have a full day planned for tomorrow and want to be well rested! I'll be back tomorrow evening for details and photos about day 4 :)
Your photos are lovely Amy! So glad you are having so much fun (and there is almost no such THING as one too many glasses of wine xo)
