Ellie and I won a free night at the Seaport Hotel at a fundraiser for the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and we decided to use it on the night of her 30th birthday for a staycation! I called ahead to ask the concierge if they could fill her room with balloons for a fun surprise, and both Paul and Betty helped me out. They were super nice, responsive and accommodating and I would definitely recommend them to make your stay special.
They also surprised Ellie with this complimentary cheese plate and nice birthday note! :) I had no idea this was coming so it was really a special touch.
When we were getting ready for dinner in our room, Ellie realized that the new dress she bought for the night still had the ink tag on it! She didn't have enough time to go all the way home and pick out a new dress and she hadn't brought a backup outfit with her, so we didn't know what to do. We called Robert in Guest Services who promised us he would come up with a solution and get us to dinner in time. He ended up calling a town car to take me (and Ellie's dress) to the Macy's downtown to get the ink tag removed. I was all ready to go and Ellie still needed to do her hair and makeup, so this was really the best solution given our time crunch! I got the tag off the dress and back to Ellie in time for us to meet everyone else for dinner, thanks to Robert's quick thinking. Ellie and I were both so thankful and I really wanted to share this story because I am always impressed when a company, brand or hotel has amazing customer service and goes above and beyond for their customers. I definitely recommend staying at the Seaport or using them for events!

I also went to the dermatologist and needed to have 4 moles removed, 3 of which were suspicious but thankfully turned out to be benign. I had 7 stitches in my leg and 6 in my belly button..eek! Even if you aren't as fair as me, I recommend having your skin checked by a dermatologist once a year to prevent skin cancer.
I've been decorating my apartment a bit more, and Phoebe's still enjoying it as much as she did when we first moved in.
I also celebrated my friend Cordy's birthday which was so much fun...
...and spent some time walking around and relaxing in my new neighborhood.
