Use a wine rack to hold your towels in the bathroom - saves space in the closet and drawers!
Hang up a big shoe rack on the back of your closet door.
Add an entryway with shelving, cubbies and hooks for additional storage.
Put shelving unit in the lofted area of your space for even more storage {and don't leave the walls up there bare!}
Repurpose an old drawer and use it as a shelf in your bathroom for all of your toiletries!
Buy an island with cabinets and hooks to hang your wine glasses so you can maximize space in the kitchen area.
Take the drawers out of an old dresser, paint it a fun color and use cubby bins to keep things out of sight. {I could definitely do this for all of my crafting materials!}

Ooh, I love the wine rack/towel rack idea! We recently had guests and I just stacked the towels on the bathroom counter. A rack would be so much better looking!
ReplyDeleteI'm moving next week and I'm already stressing about the small space! At home, I have two big closets but now I have to share a tiny, tiny one with my boyfriend- ahh!
ReplyDeleteThat shelving unit in the entry way would look so cute with some bead boarding placed in the back and some cute little door knob pegs to hang jackets and bags! Love your ideas!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I took a cheap shelving unit from Target ($20) and added some cute little canvas baskets like this for my clothes because I too live in an apartment that is already furnished and the dresser drawers don't work and I have little room for storage.

Such great inspiration Amy!! I love the wine rack towels and the non-closet/closet. I have a feeling I will be doing that wherever my next place is :) xx
ReplyDeleteWe live in a small apartment too so I totally hear you when you're worried about finding a way to store all your clothes! We added extra shelving in our walk in closet to maximize the space and we try to keep things in pretty boxes that we can stack as to use up as much vertical storage as we can. I definitely think you're well on your way to coming up with some great storage ideas!

I have been in my apartment for two years but am currently strug-strug-struggling with keeping it organized lately! Thinking it may have to do with my shopping addiction/failure to purge. But I DID just get a unit like that last photo, and am so excited to start organizing things with it!
