My Favorites: Hair Products

Yesterday I posted about my favorite face and body products and today I want to share my favorite hair products with you! It took me awhile to find the right products for me, but these are my tried and true tools to keeping my long, fine, color-treated hair looking healthy!

Shampoo, Conditioner & Hair Mask: Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Line - $24 for a mini starter kit. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this shampoo, conditioner and hair mask. They smell amazing, leave my hair feeling clean and soft and help prevent breakage. What more could you ask for?  Nothing else has ever made my hair feel this silky! You will honestly notice a difference after one use. I wash with the shampoo and conditioner every other day and use the mask once a week. Try it out - you'll fall in love!

Smoothing creme: Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom - $18.  A little goes a long way with this moisturizing hair creme from Kiehl's. I use it on towel dried hair before I blow dry for a smooth look or when I'm letting my hair air dry wavy. It keeps my hair soft, shiny and neat and doesn't weigh down my fine hair. Since you only need to use a tiny bit, even on long hair, it will last you for a long time!

Heat Protection & Styling Spray: Redken Spray Starch 15 - $14. My hairdresser recommended I use this spray when I told her that my fine hair wasn't holding the waves I was making with a 1" barrel curling iron. This spray helps to protect your hair from heat damage and also helps to hold waves/curls made with heat styling tools all day long! It's important not to spray it too close to your head or else your hair could get crunchy - don't overdo it!  It's really worked wonders for me because now I can get that loose, beachy wave look I've been trying for all along!

Finishing Spray: Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray - $21. This hairspray is the perfect finishing spray - it holds hair without that nasty hairspray finish. It smells wonderful and makes hair shiny while leaving it soft yet controlled. It's the best way to top off any hairstyle!

Finishing Creme: Jonathan Product Silky Dirt - $28. This has been one of my favorite products for years. I use it on my dry hair to smooth, control and define it, especially when I've let it air dry wavy. It smells like cupcakes and I can't get enough of it!! It's great to ward off frizz, fly-aways and static as well!

Dry Shampoo: Cake Beauty Satin Sugar Hair Powder - $18. It's easy to see why this product has won so many beauty awards - it's amazing! Available for blondes and brunettes, this hair powder actually matches your hair color (unlike those white dry shampoos) and absorbs oil from your roots on the days between washes. It smells like lemon cookies and is essential for me because I don't wash my hair every day! Try it - it will change your life! :) Everyone I've recommended it to has bought it and loved it.
